Self-Worth — Page 2
Verses 11–20 of 30
Romans 8:1 KJV
“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”
Context & Meaning
Self-worth for the believer is secured by the absence of divine condemnation, the verdict that defines us is not our own failures or others' rejection but God's declaration of no condemnation in Christ.
Psalm 8:4-5 KJV
“What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.”
Context & Meaning
The psalmist marvels that the God who made the cosmos takes thought of tiny humanity, and then declares that same humanity is crowned with glory and honor. The crown of worth is placed by the King Himself.
2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
Context & Meaning
Past failure, shame, and the identities built around sin are not the final word, in Christ, a new creation has begun. Self-worth in Christ is not rooted in the old self but in the new one God has made.
John 3:16 KJV
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Context & Meaning
The price God paid, His own Son, is the most objective measure of human worth available. The value of anything is what someone is willing to pay for it. God paid infinitely for you.
Galatians 4:7 KJV
“Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.”
Context & Meaning
The radical upgrade in identity through Christ, from servant to son, from outsider to heir, is the New Testament's most powerful statement of elevated worth. Heirs of God are of immeasurable worth.

“For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.”

“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”
Psalms 139:15 KJV
“My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.”
Psalms 139:16 KJV
“Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.”
Psalms 8:4 KJV
“What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?”
